Puppy in sessions...

Please read this page so that you are aware of what it will mean to have Oliver around during our therapy sessions.

Midway through 2021 Oliver the labrador joined me in my work. He will be 6 months old at the end of September 2021 and so he is no longer a small pup.   He is not yet comfortable to sleep in another room from me and so for now, he will go to sleep in the room where we work.

Welcoming

He will be a little excited to see you and like to have a little stroke and fuss for a minute or two before he goes to lay down.

Jumping up

He has grown out of jumping on people while they are sitting but occassionally can't help it so do please be mindful of wearing delecate clothing that his paws might snag.

During our Sessions

After a short hello to visitors, Ollie then sleeps through the sessions on his bed near to us.

How sessions end when Oliver is here...

After  about an hour, Oliver will wake up and seek attention from you as he has developed a knack of knowing how long sessions are.  Luckily he also has a snooze button for when he is a bit too early.

If Oliver is suitable for it, the plan is to train him to work in therapy sessions as a therapy aid.   To read how therapy dogs can be helpful read more here >
